Why did you choose to go into Accountancy?

I always loved maths at school thanks to my teacher, Mr Love. When I was then choosing my A levels I always wanted to do something with numbers but to also help and advise people so I chose to do business A level. I loved the finance aspect of business studies so I focussed on a career in accountancy. I applied to Ensors as a trainee straight from sixth form and I’m still here 11 years later.

Why did you choose Ensors?

In all honesty it was the first place I applied and was offered the job so I accepted. I was just so pleased a firm was willing to give me such a good opportunity. The people here and the working environment are the biggest part of what keeps me at Ensors.

What do you really enjoy about your job?

I really enjoy working with GPs and helping them understand their finances and giving them tips that might help them along the way

If you had to do something different and money and skill were no object, what would you do?

I have always loved to dance so I would be a professional dancer and perform around the world.

What is the most unusual task you have been asked to carry out at work?

To go to a client’s elderly mothers for a cup of tea and a chat every couple of weeks.

If you could invite any 3 people to dinner who would they be and why?

Whitney Houston, she had a fantastic voice, so could serenade us at dinner. Ricky Gervais to provide some good humour and finally Marilyn Monroe as it would be fascinating to hear about such an icon’s life.

Who’s your favourite band/singer?

I do enjoy any singers with a really powerful voice. Nothing beats attempting to sing along to the likes of Mariah Carey or Adele in the car on the way home.

What was your first day at work like?

Daunting! As a young 18 year old I was rather nervous walking into the office for the first day, not having a clue of what I was doing. Good job all I did on my first day was arrange some business cards in alphabetical order, I must have done a good job!

What’s your favourite TV programme?

Any of the Real Housewives series are my guilty pleasure. I am also really enjoying The Handmaid’s Tale.
