Three up-and-coming sports stars from Suffolk have been given a helping hand to help achieve their dreams thanks to funding raised by Ensors and other local businesses.

Ipswich Sporting Lunch club met to present Sailor Joseph Drake (15), athlete Jonathan Adams (23) and swimmer Elise Martin De La Torre (17) with SportsAid Awards at Portman Road, the home of Ipswich Town Football Club.

All three athletes have had a taste of success with Joseph Drake scooping a silver medal at the National Topper Championships, Jonathan Adams competing in the London 2012 Paralympic Games and Elise Martin De La Torre sustaining her World ranking of 7 and a European ranking of 4. With the additional support provided by the Ipswich Sporting Lunch Club, the recipients will be able to buy additional sports equipment along with easing travel and accommodation expenses.

Ipswich Sporting Lunch Club, which was established in 2015, raises vital money to support talented young sportsmen and women from Suffolk. It is spearheaded by 7 local businesses working together with SportsAid, the UK’s leading charity for young athletes.

Other sponsors are StrategiQ, Pound Gates Chartered Insurance Brokers, Handelsbanken, Ellisons Solicitors, IT services company Corbell and Picasso HR.
