Ignition, a full-service training and experiential events agency, has announced it has transferred majority ownership to its employees in the form of an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT).

Founded in 1979, Ignition has forged a strong reputation for delivering award-winning programmes in strategy, events, experiential and training. Ignition is a full service agency that also provides in-house video and production expertise that is combined with an e-learning skillset and webinar support. In addition it also offers, apps, animation and digital guides to support and leverage its clients’ commercial success.

Rob Forsyth, the exiting majority shareholder and managing director, commented on the EOT saying “I am confident that this exciting change will take the company and its employee motivations to the next level. I would like to thank Ensors for their excellent assistance and guidance throughout the whole process. They were on hand to answer any questions we had and provided clarity on the best way forward to a great conclusion for both myself and the employees.”

The Ensors team comprised of Simon Martin, Ben Croston, Ivan Woolgrove and Valeriia Sydelnykova.

Simon Martin commented that “It was an absolute pleasure to work with Rob and the team on this transaction. In particular I enjoyed the collaborative discussions with Rob and Clive Gilham (independent trustee) on how to structure a deal which benefits all parties.  The deal allows the company to continue to thrive under new leadership and adds to the ever-growing number of companies exiting via an EOT.”

Ensors advice on this transaction covered valuation, structuring, tax clearance and review of the legal documentation.
