Frequently asked questions

What is the Ensors.digital accounting software service?
Our Ensors.digital service allows our team to guide you through the process of choosing the right digital accounting software for your business, of setting up the software to work effectively for you, choosing the right add-on software and apps, and providing any training needed for end users. This leaves you “ready to go”, and ready to work with the rest of the Ensors team on a day to day basis in a more integrated and collaborative fashion.

Does Ensors.digital use a specific accounting software package?
No.  Whilst many of our competitors have followed Henry Ford’s model of “any colour you like, as long as it’s black”, we have no intention of forcing all clients into a single solution, and are able to offer a wide range of different software packages.  Each of the packages on the market today has different strengths and weaknesses, and which of these is the most suitable will therefore depend on your individual business.  We tailor each package accordingly.

Can Ensors.digital help me to comply with Making Tax Digital?
We will only recommend and supply software and upgrades which we expect to be fully compatible with HMRC’s Making Tax Digital programme.  In addition, we can assist you with evaluating your current accounting software for MTD compatibility.

Do I need a cloud based accounting software solution for Making Tax Digital?
No, not necessarily. A digital accounting solution does not have to be hosted in the cloud, and for some businesses, especially larger ones, we may still recommend desktop based software. The latest versions of desktop accounting software are expected to be MTD compatible.

When do I need to be ready for Making Tax Digital?
All VAT registered businesses with turnover above the VAT threshold will need to be ready in April 2019.  See our blogs for more details .

I am happy with the software I am using, but I want help to improve the way I use it.  Can Ensors.digital help?
Absolutely.  As we are not committed to a single software supplier, we are very happy to help you optimise your usage of any suitable package.

What happens when the Ensors.digital accounting software process is complete?
When the Ensors.digital process is complete, we can hand you over to the rest of the Ensors team to deal with your ongoing day to day requirements.  In many cases, your Ensors.digital contact will remain involved in certain aspects of your business, and the team will always be on hand to help with further refinements to your accounting process.

What sizes of business is Ensors.digital accounting software suitable for?
As we use a range of software solutions, the Ensors.digital team is able to assist virtually all sizes of business, from simple sole traders, to large corporates.

How does our approach differ from our competitors?
Many of our competitors see digital or cloud accounting as a sub-set of their business.  However, at Ensors we recognise that in the modern age digital accounting is accounting. The two can’t be separated, and this is why our Ensors.digital accounting software service is fully integrated into the rest of the firm so that we can provide you with a bespoke solution that works best for you.

How much does it cost?
Please contact us to arrange for a fee quote.

Does Ensors.digital accounting software offer any training?
As part of your Ensors.digital package we can help to train you and your team to get the most out of your software.  We can also point you towards further online training resources.
