  • Letter to academy trust accounting officers September 2018

    A letter was sent from Eileen Milner, chief executive of the Education and Skills Funding Agency, to academy trusts in September 2018 in which she discusses financial management, accountability and governance.
  • Updated safeguarding guidance

    The DfE has updated the keeping children safe in education (KCSIE) guidance to reflect the recently revised working together to safeguard children guidance.
  • Academies complaints procedures

    It has been reported by the ESFA that there has been an increasing number of complaints coming through where an academy’s complaints procedure is not compliant with the standards.
  • Academies accounts return

    The ESFA has published guidance for the completion of the accounts return including the main differences between the financial statements and the accounts return for 2017 to 2018.
  • Academies planning calendar 2018-2019

    A useful wall planner for academies showing key dates about ESFA activities for the 2018 to 2019 academic year has now been issued.
  • Academy information to publish online

    Guidance has been issued on what information should be published on your website. This includes information on admission arrangements, Ofsted reports and pupil premium.
  • Guide to understanding your data

    A guide has been issued to support and encourage academy trustees to use their educational and financial data in reviewing the academy trust performance.
  • Changes to automatic disqualification rules

    Changes to the rules which automatically disqualify individuals from becoming trustees came into effect from August 2018.
  • Academies Financial Handbook

    The 2018 handbook is now available to download and is effective from 1 September 2018.
