Back in December the social committee at Ensors organised our annual Christmas raffle to raise funds for local charities. A total of £1,210 was raised by the firm for our chosen Charity ‘BREAK’, who support vulnerable children, young people and families across East Anglia.

Some of the great prizes won by staff included premier tickets for Olly Murs at Newmarket racecourse, theatre tickets, afternoon tea and various luxury food and drink.

Zoe Plowman, Associate Partner said “Our annual Christmas Raffle is a great charitable fundraiser for all staff to get involved. We chose to support BREAK this year as they provide vital assistance for vulnerable children, young people and families across East Anglia. There were great prizes to be won and we are extremely happy with the fundraising total for such a worthwhile cause.”

The partners at Ensors kindly agreed to match the amount raised through ticket sales which was split across the following charities, as chosen by each office:

  • Supported activities for everyone (SAFE) which is a government charity commission which was established to promote benefits for the local residents, the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time for individuals who have need of such facilities.
  • Dreamdrops which is a Huntingdon Children’s Charity that aims to make life a little easier when it can be at it’s most stressful time by proving all the little (and large) extras that are not covered by public funds. The charity’s work doesn’t just stop there, as funds are also used to help sick children cared for at home.
  • St Elizabeth’s Hospice who helps improve life for those living with progressive and life-limiting illness through palliative care. They focus on the individual’s needs, including specialist support if required.
  • Arthur Rank Hospice Charity which supports people living in Cambridgeshire with an advanced serious illness or a life-limiting condition and those in need of end-of-life care.
  • St Nicholas Hospice Care provide help, advice, and support to people in West Suffolk and Thetford who are in the final chapters of their life, who are living with long-term and life-threatening illnesses. However, their services are not just for patients, but also for their families and friends too and include everything from specialist medical care to bereavement support and practical help.
