Ensors secures buyer of baby product business

Ensors Corporate Finance team have recently advised the two retiring shareholders on their exit from this well known baby product business. Bickiepegs is a brand with real history (the product dates back to 1925) and is well known to parents young and old who have used the teething biscuit to help soothe their babies. Doidy cups are recognised by leading health professionals as a training aid to help babies learn to drink from a cup during weaning. Both products are manufactured in the UK with its main base in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Ensors provided a full service to the shareholders – finding a buyer, negotiating the offer and assisting with closing the deal. The business was sold to Nutranova Limited, a company headed by Chris Blincoe at the end of August 2014. Chris is looking to use his experience in the sector to consolidate and grow the business.

Chris Blincoe of Nutranova says “We are delighted to have completed the acquisition of the Bickiepegs and Doidy brands. We see the potential of the inherent value in these baby healthcare brands which have a strong heritage and loyal following amongst key opinion leaders such as midwives and health visitors and we look forward to developing the brands. Ensors, whilst representing the vendors were a good intermediary and facilitator in the acquisition process.”
