Accounting & Tax seminars
Following a rollercoaster year of changes and uncertainty, we are pleased to welcome Phil Frost and Mark Morton, experienced financial lecturers from Mercia Group Limited to deliver our annual Accounting & Tax seminars in Ipswich and Cambridge.
These free events will be relatively technical in content and will therefore be of real interest to qualified and trainee accountants, as well as business owners and financial staff. It will also qualify for CPD.
As experienced financial trainers, Phil and Mark will guide you through current accounting, financial reporting and tax practices. In particular they will include:
- Issues arising from the implementation of the new accounting regime and the impact this has had on the annual accounts, filing obligations, credit ratings and covenant strength.
- An update of tax changes from the Autumn Budget and other recent changes together with areas that might be of particular interest to HMRC who are becoming more active on the enquiry front.

Registration for both seminars is at 8.30am for a 9am start. Light refreshments will be available on arrival and during a short comfort break at 10.45am. The seminar will finish at 1pm with questions and answers.
Phil Frost qualified in his home town of Sheffield. He worked for Financial Training for a number of years and was their midlands regional director before joining Mercia in 2001. He now lectures to the accounting profession and to those in industry and commerce on accounting, auditing, and related legal and regulatory topics as well as specialising in charity and property accounting together with international accounting standards.
Mark Morton joined HMRC in 1989 and undertook their full training exams. In 1996 he was made Deputy District Inspector for the Derby area and had detailed experience of all types of Revenue enquiries. Mark joined Mercia as an experienced lecturer and now provides a wide variety of CPD training around the country. He is also a well known contributor to professional publications and provides technical consultancy to the accountancy profession.
