Corporate Finance & Forensic Executive (Ipswich)

Location: Ipswich

Ensors has an exciting new opportunity to join its expanding forensic accounting and corporate finance advisory team at its head office in Ipswich. Our team is one of the largest in the region dealing with deals and projects in East Anglia, London and beyond.

This is a diverse role for which a certain amount of flexibility will be required from the successful candidate: a proven ‘can do’ attitude is therefore a must. The client portfolio includes large corporates and substantial family owned businesses across a variety of sectors. Our clients are based locally as well as throughout the UK and internationally with a large proportion of our current pipeline involving cross border work in Europe and the US.

Our corporate finance team advises business owners looking to buy sell or raise finance. We are also retained by funders looking to invest or lend. Deal values vary from £500k to £50m and examples of the types of transactions we are involved in can be seen at

The team provides integrated due diligence/transaction services alongside corporate finance lead advisory work which allows for a varied workload.

Forensic accounting cases include professional negligence, employee fraud, shareholder disputes and expert witness work.

This is an exciting and hands on role with real scope to develop your existing finance and management skills. You will be expected to participate in all stages of research, investigation, reporting writing and preparing files and supporting documents for the manager/partner.

Responsibilities will include:

• Assistance on corporate finance transactions and financial due diligence;
• Assistance on forensic accounting and expert witness assignments;
• Involvement in the team’s business development activities;
• Ad hoc project work.

Desired Skills and Experience

You should be ACA/ACCA qualified (1-2 years) or QBE, or in the last year of your training contract, and must have significant experience gained within a UK practice environment. Although preferable, experience does not have to be in corporate finance or forensic accounting and we would be keen to speak with auditors looking to expand their horizons into a specialist area. A keen, enquiring mind and a strong desire to learn are essential as are first rate interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of financial modelling and/or advanced excel skills would also be of benefit.

The role offers a great opportunity to gain experience within a prestigious team that has gained numerous accolades.  Within the last year Ensors has entered The Accountancy Age Top 50 for the first time, and has recently been announced as a finalist at the British Accountancy Awards 2018 (‘Mid-Tier Firm of the Year’ category). Ensors was named as ‘Pensions Accountancy Firm of the Year’ at the 2018 Pensions Age Awards, and was a finalist at the Suffolk Business Awards 2018 (‘Large Business’ category). See more here.

We offer a competitive remuneration package with numerous benefits in a friendly working environment.  We also offer opportunity for further progression as well as exposure to a broad and varied portfolio of clients and work.

To apply, please send your CV together with a covering letter stating current salary to our HR department quoting reference ‘ips-cffexec’ or by post to our HR Department at our Ipswich office.
