Workshops on pensions to be held

The Pensions Regulator has announced that it will be holding a series of free workshops in Edinburgh, London and Nottingham.

It is hoped that the seminars can allow the watchdog to build on its current message of "good governance and administration".

Delegates on the day have to work through a sample scenario, which is intended to highlight the essential issues associated with high-quality governance, namely the importance of having the right people and processes to deal with such matters in a company.

However, the advisory commission has explained that the meetings are not an opportunity for organisations to discuss their individual schemes - instead, they will have to use existing channels for that.

The events are scheduled to take place in Edinburgh on 23 February, London on 2 March and Nottingham on 9 March.

Recent research by the body found that only 19% of pension schemes it surveyed had checked the required information they had was correct.
