Even the wealthy need help with their taxes, as has been proven by the deadline handed down to Kerry Katona.
The former singer, reality TV show winner and the face of Iceland supermarkets was yesterday told that she had until August 7th to pay of a £157,000 debt to Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs or face bankruptcy.
Lawyer Luke Harris said Miss Katona would be receiving payments in August to cover the remainder of her £417,000 tax bill.
Highlighting one of the methods people with assets could resort to in a bid to pay off immediate debt, he added: “She is also strenuously seeking to remortgage her properties. But if the money comes in there is no need. I would ask for one final indulgence by the court.”
ThisisLondon reported that as well as the case over tax bills from 2004 to 2006, the columnist also owes £73,000 from 2007.
